te amorangi
This term our focus in our Mahi Tuhituhi is around speech writing. We will be watching landmark speeches from Aotearoa and across the world, analysing them and identifying what makes a good speech and what can improve one that doesn't have much of an impact. We will be looking into the use of voice projection, eye contact and hand gestures to add even more depth to our Kaupapa Koorero.
Below is the link to the speech made by Joshua Iosefo from Mt Roskill Grammar in 2012. This is called Brown Brother. The links next to this will take you to your mahi of analisying his koorero and then identifying the effective pieces. Make sure to listen and watch carefully as he makes his crucial points. At times his koorero is cryptic and it is up to you how you interpret these parts, so think outside the box when it doesn't seem to make sense.
